Relieve Pain with Precision Therapy

A focused approach to alleviate muscle discomfort.

Trigger Point Injection Therapy is a technique designed to target specific muscle knots that may be causing you discomfort. This therapy involves the careful insertion of a thin needle into trigger points to release tension and improve mobility. By addressing these tight spots, you can experience relief from chronic pain, enhance your range of motion, and enjoy a more active lifestyle. At VIP Therapy in Delta, BC, your comfort and well-being are at the heart of what we do.

Trigger Point Injection Therapy

Trigger-Point Injection Therapy is a long-established medical procedure used to treat muscular and fascial (myofascial) pain. Treatment can help improve muscular range of motion and function. It is performed by injecting the Trigger Point with a small amount of anesthetic.

This may elicit some discomfort at first, but when the Trigger Point is gone so is the pain. The combination of the needle insertion and local anaesthetic can help relax these abnormally contracted strands of muscle — the Trigger Point — resulting in pain relief and restoring normal muscle function and range of motion.

The anesthetic also helps numb the area the Trigger Point was in, allowing the patient to move more freely without pain. The increase in movement then helps treat and decrease other possible Satellite Trigger Points and also increases the range of motion within the bound muscle fibers. The final result is the entire muscle being able to relax.

The anesthetic wears off in less than an hour, but the pain-free range of motion has been known to last well beyond the initial treatment session.
